Life in the Spirit
Today, let us live out a new Pentecost and invite the Holy Spirit into our lives in a new and deeper way, knowing that when we surrender our lives to Him we will never be the same.
Lessons from the Delta
St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross once said that women, “have ears for the softest and most imperceptible little voices.”
New Wine
At times, God has to pry the control from my hands, but I am learning that the more I let go, the more space He has to work and provide for me. Of course, His providence is always better than the plans I concoct for my own life.
Last Words
These are the last words that Christ utters from the cross. May they help us, this day, to enter more profoundly into His passion and death.
Food: New Traditions
Our home parish is St. Joseph. The first year we lived here, on the Solemnity of St. Joseph, the parish constructed a beautiful altar in honor of St. Joseph and organized a potluck to celebrate our patron saint. I was completely unfamiliar with this tradition so decided to research its origins.
Food: Sacrifices
In 2011, our 13-month-old son had an anaphylactic reaction to milk. Further testing would determine that he was severely allergic to all nuts, dairy, and eggs. I recall walking out of the appointment overwhelmed and discouraged. Food, the means by which we provide physical sustenance for our bodies, just became one of the greatest dangers to my child’s life.
Love Language: Loving Him
I am fiercely, wholly, and extravagantly loved by Him. It is incomprehensible when I try to comprehend what exactly this type of love means for me and my life.
Our Lady of Lourdes
Is it any wonder that Our Lady of Lourdes is the patroness of the sick? I had the privilege of bathing in this water in 2002. I can assure you of two things: it is freezing, and it is worth it!
Dry Bones
Nothing is too difficult for God or at such a loss that God can not breathe new life into it. He is a God of hope and restoration. He is a victorious God who makes all things new, and He can redeem anything.
